Isla Sombra in DDS2 consists of multiple islands, each with its own characteristics, client base, police density, and available resources. Understanding the map layout is essential for efficient travel, territory planning, and supply chain management. This guide covers every accessible island, key points of interest, and the fastest travel routes between them.

Island overview:

Based on the community maps on Miraheze and Kanka, there are 7 major island zones:

IslandUnlock OrderBest ForPolice Density
Small IslandStarting zoneTutorial, early deliveries, no policeNone
ArchipelagoFirst expansionGeneral operations, restaurant districtLow
CallejonMid-gameProcessing, industrial equipment, gang territoryMedium
JungleMid-gameCannabis growing, raw materialsLow
Slavs BayLate-gameHigh-end production (meth, cocaine)High
Paraiso PeninsularLate-gameEndgame operations, high-value clientsHigh
Bahia De OroEndgameCasino DLC area, premium clientsVery High

The islands are gated by Street Cred level and story progression. You cannot access Callejon until you have completed sufficient missions in Archipelago. Similarly, Slavs Bay and later areas require higher Street Cred.

Island details and key locations:

Small Island (Starting zone):

  • No police presence -- completely safe for beginners
  • Key locations: Starting beach, Shady's location, tutorial warehouse
  • Available resources: Basic ingredients, limited vendor selection
  • Hideouts: No purchasable hideouts -- the starter shack is the only base
  • Drug demand: Cannabis and amphetamine only

Archipelago:

  • Low police presence, good for early expansion
  • Key locations: Restaurant (Brisa Marina), Mechanic Ezequiel Ramos (Yellow Car vendor), general stores
  • Hideouts: Cottage (~$4k) near dock, restaurant building (~$12k)
  • Notice boards: 1 bulletin board north of the restaurant
  • Drug demand: Cannabis, amphetamine, meth

Callejon:

  • Medium police presence, industrial zone with good equipment shops
  • Key locations: Hardware store, chemical supplier, vehicle dealer
  • Hideouts: Industrial unit (~$6k), warehouse (~$15k)
  • Notice boards: 1 bulletin board east of hardware store
  • Drug demand: All types except cocaine

Jungle:

  • Low police presence, excellent for low-visibility operations
  • Key locations: General store, farm supply, pawn shop
  • Hideouts: Cabin (~$3k), river house (~$10k)
  • Drug demand: Cannabis and amphetamine primarily
  • Best for: Raw material growing and low-heat production

Slavs Bay:

  • High police presence, high potential profits
  • Key locations: Coastal properties, underground locations
  • Hideouts: Coastal house (~$8k), underground lab (~$20k)
  • Drug demand: All types including high-end products

Fast travel routes:

The fastest method to cross between islands is by boat. However, some routes have shortcuts:

RouteMethodTimeRisk
Small Island to ArchipelagoBoat (north passage)2-3 minutesLow
Archipelago to CallejonBoat (west route)3-4 minutesLow
Callejon to JungleBoat (south route)4-5 minutesMedium (patrols)
Jungle to Slavs BayBoat (south-east)5-7 minutesMedium
Callejon to Slavs BayBoat (cross-island)6-8 minutesHigh
Any to Paraiso PeninsularBoat (requires high Street Cred unlock)5-10 minutesHigh
The best early-game hideout location is the cottage on the island between Callejon and Archipelago. The Reddit community recommends this location because it provides easy access to both zones, has a dock for boat parking, and has moderate visibility that is manageable with basic precautions.

Practical example: Efficient supply chain route

Here is the supply chain route I use that minimizes travel time:

  1. Jungle hideout -- Cannabis grow and raw material processing
  2. Boat to Callejon (4 minutes) -- Transport raw materials to processing hub
  3. Callejon warehouse -- Amphetamine and meth production
  4. Boat to Archipelago (3 minutes) -- Transport finished product to sales hub
  5. Archipelago hideout -- Finished product storage and dealer distribution
  6. Small Island (2 minutes from Archipelago) -- Secondary sales territory

This circular route touches all key zones in approximately 15 minutes of travel time per loop. With a fast boat and planned stops, you can complete a full supply chain cycle in under an hour.
